6 Months Old Today!

I can't believe my baby girl is already 6 months old! She has grown so much (as I've been showing in previous posts). She now has 2 teeth and is sitting up more and more (she's balancing better than ever now though she still needs help from her boppy). She's eating rice cereal really well (we postponed it until her tummy issues resolved themselves) and loves her highchair. I think she likes the added height.

We visited a local garden and posed for some 6 month pictures. She is such a ham for the camera! :)

These were the only photos we could get of her in the grass!

She reminds me of a 1920s flapper in this one!

She Is Getting SO Big!!

I can't believe my baby is about to be 6 months old!

For those of you with toddlers and infants, I need to hear from you. Does a baby go through an attitude change about this time? She seems to be fussier than usual, but with attitude; as if she's fussy because she's bored, not because she's hurt or feeling bad (I know what that looks and sounds like...last week she cut her first tooth and was none too happy). I think she's getting frustated because she's wanting to do more, but her body hasn't caught up yet!

Here's a bunch of pictures showing off some of her new talents. :)

When she wears her matching hat with this outfit, Daddy says she looks like a strawberry!

Passing the time while Mama folds laundry

If I had Photoshop, I'd superimpose this picture of her flying over New York City like Superman!

All geared up for summer!

She's getting better and better at sitting up on her own

I think we're going to have to start putting her little tub in the big bathtub...bathtime is getting wetter and messier than it used to be!

She told me afterwards that she liked the symbolism and use of metaphor in this book, but the plot was a little redundant :)

Rachel loves playing around in Daddy's chair

She doesn't have to use her carseat to use her stroller anymore, and she really likes having a forward-facing seat now

I LOVE this picture...only babies would find it comfortable to fall asleep with your foot in your hand!

Happy Mother's Day!

Boy am I late posting! But we were really busy last week. First we enjoyed a few days with my mom and sister visiting. Then I spent the second part of the week sleep deprived because Rachel cut her first tooth!!! She woke up about five times Wednesday night, and at the time I didn't know why (which is always more frustrating).

I got so many sweet first mother's day cards! But Joshua's had to be the cutest with Rachel's little smudged handprint on it! That Saturday we had a crawfish boil at my inlaws house (something that's become an annual event for us the past few years) and had a great time!

My dessert contributions: banana pudding & chocolate turtle torte

A mound of crawfish!

She loves sitting on her Daddy's shoulders

A sweet picture with her Mama K

We decided to start her off slowly with her own little pile of crawfish....not! :)

Rainy Days

It's starting to look like a rainy spring so far. Which is fine by me after last summer's drought! We've been staying busy taking care of things around the house...it felt like I had more errands than usual this week, then the clutter starts to get away from me (we're bad about clutter in our house), and the ironing piles up. Joshua asked me this morning why I was still ironing stuff. I told him if we quit wearing clothes I could get caught up! Now that Rachel is down for her nap, I can post the photos I've been meaning to do all week!

All tuckered out

Where did the baby go???? Daddy plays around on Saturday mornings with Rachel and lets me sleep in a bit :) and by the way, that's a dolphin puppet, not a shark

Here are the shelves we finally got up in her nursery. It is now complete! Can you tell that I like bunnies?

This is hanging over her crib (it's a little hard to tell in this photo). My aunt made the quilt for Rachel :)

Kicking up her heels

I love pictures where she sticks out her little tongue...someday she'll do it on purpose I'm sure!
