Tea and Oatmeal

We're practicing drinking out of a big girl cup now. At times she looks like she's doing an old fashioned coffee commercial! :)

Random Pictures from the Last Month or So...

Here's all the pictures I should have been posting the last month or so. I'll try to organize them best I can!

Pictures of the kids together... She loves to push him in this swing, though she knows she's not supposed to

Rachel really does love her little brother! She's still always giving him kisses. Makes my heart happy! :)

As those of you with kids know, for every one good picture of the kids, there's five that didn't turn out so well...someone's not smiling, making a goofy face, or just poor placement. We had a little makeshift photo session a few weeks ago and here are some of the funnier ones that didn't quite make the cut! :)

Physically, this worked in order for her to hold him, but it looks like she's about to serve him for dinner!
Check out the unintentional Farrah Fawcett hair!

Gotta get the pigtail pictures in while I can...she still refuses to let me put her hair up for any length of time.

Pictures of William

I love his little smiles! They seem to have a lot of personality to them :)

In some of these he looks like he's laughing!

Pictures of Rachel staying busy around the house
This was all her idea. She wanted to tote her favorite lovey around in my baby carrier that I use for William. That's a lion if you can't tell :)
Sliding at the park in Allen

Watching a movie

She loves fingerpainting

We got the kids a sandbox to play in this summer. We've still not gotten the sand, but there'll be more pictures then. Rachel seems to like it all by itself just fine!

Kicking the ball around her grandparents' backyard

Needing a rest from all the playing!
And cooling down with a tiny mug of rootbeer!

Fort Worth Air Show

The title says it all...I have no time...hope you enjoy these!

When we first got there, the planes were doing some warm up exercises, and they were REALLY loud. Rachel got a little freaked out...that's why she looks like she does here. Poor Daddy had to carry her around the whole time we look at the static displays. She stuck to him like glue!
But she got over her fears eventually. Here she is looking out the window of a helicopter.
How freakin' cool is that to have Darth Vader on your jet??? :) (note the "save me daddy" posture she's taken on!)

She liked things better with her ear protection!
Part of the show was reenactments of bombings. They had some kind of explosives on the ground timed to go off when certain planes flew over them. I included this picture because it explains why she now thinks all airplanes in the sky go, to quote Rachel, "Whoooosh! Boom!"

We kept telling her that she'd have to turn the binoculars around the other way to see anything, but apparently that wasn't the point for her! :)

Renaissance Festival

I have a ridiculous number of pictures to upload...gonna make these next few posts short and sweet!

Watching the parade...Rachel seems to have the best seat of all!

Scenes from the parade itself

We tried to get her to wave to the people she saw, but I think she was a little awestruck.

We learned at the joust that Rachel LOVES to cheer, and apparently she doesn't care what she cheers for! We were supposed to be cheering for our particular jouster, but she would cheer for anyone who rode by and spoke to our side of the arena, including the competition! The funniest though was when they were fighting hand to hand on the ground. One opponent had the other in a very dangerous position and threatened his opponent with making him a gelding...before anyone in the audience responded we heard Rachel cheer "Yeah!!!" over the silence. It was too funny!

Our friend Maggie works with the horses this year. Normally she rides with one of the jousting champions, but unfortunately her horse was hurt the weekend we went :( Here she is getting the crowd worked up!

Afterwards Joshua took Rachel down to pet one of the horses.
What you can't hear in the photo is that she's saying "Home?" That's her way of saying she wants to take the horse home with us!
She was very excited to get to take a ride on one of the horses too.
